Do you remember an early Steven Speilberg movie, Duel? Well, here is one of the trucks used in the thriller - a big old Peterbilt, now owned by Brad Wike of North Carolina, USA.

If you love remote spots, this is your destination. Many New Zealanders haven't even heard of this seaside settlement on the lower North Island's east coast. We didn't bargain for what a test this would be of our driving skills and comfort levels. But, like all good challenges, it was worthwhile in the end.
